  abstract  = {This paper addresses intelligent continuous integration and delivery at scale, and the use of autonomous agents to transform software delivery pipelines. The central question is a practical one: how continuous integration and delivery can be achieved with agents rather than with the scripted automation that pipelines are conventionally built from. The paper considers what changes when the components of a delivery pipeline are able to act rather than only execute, and what that implies for pipelines operating at scale, where the number of builds, environments and decisions is already beyond what a team inspects individually. It treats the shift as an engineering question about where judgement sits in the delivery process, rather than as a claim about capability. Readers take away an account of how autonomous agents can be applied to continuous integration and delivery, and what achieving it in a production pipeline involves.}
