Digital Transformation of Supplier Management
Abstract
This paper describes the digital transformation of supplier management in manufacturing, through the implementation of the Oracle Fusion Cloud Supplier Relationship Management platform across the vendor network of Martin Marietta. The work covers more than sixteen thousand U.S.-based vendors, and it changed how procurement collaboration and compliance documentation are carried out across that network. The paper sets out how the platform delivers real-time procurement visibility, and why that visibility strengthens governance of the supply chain at national scale rather than only improving efficiency within a single organization. Three areas of practice are examined in detail: the automation of compliance documentation, the standardization of tax identification verification, and supplier onboarding. Each is a process that is ordinarily manual, inconsistently applied across a large vendor base, and difficult to audit. Attendees take away a clear account of how those processes are automated and standardized in a production procurement environment.
